Wine Museum - Sierre
Temporary exhibition
Destination Vin
08.03 – 30.11.2025
The Valais, Switzerland’s largest wine-growing canton, is insignificant on a global scale: it accounts for 0,06% of the world’s wine-growing area and produces 0,15% of the world’s wine. Yet Valais winegrowing stands out thanks to its many records and unique characteristics. What are these special features? Are they found in other vineyards around the world? How is this wine heritage promoted, here and there?
Altitude, slope, winemaking methods… The Wine Museum’s new exhibition uses twelve themes to compare the Valais with other wine-producing regions around the world. This dialogue invites visitors to discover the riches of the Valais vineyards in a new light, while also offering a number of potential sources of inspiration. Destination Wine offers an immersive and interactive journey of discovery through some surprising and inventive vineyards.
In collaboration with Cité du Vin – Foundation for wine culture and civilisations (France) & Changins University of viticulture and oenology (Switzerland)
The exhibition is presented in English, French and German. A rich programme of events accompanies the exhibition.
